The public speaking storyboard includes several e-learning
principles including the coherence principle, redundancy principle,
personalization principle, and the contiguity principle. Each principle
promotes critical thinking by using cognitive thinking. The learner is actively
engaged through visuals and auditory.
·
The redundancy principle effectively combines
graphics with words without over stimulation.
·
The personalization principle creates a personal
learning environment which engages the learners a personal level.
·
The coherence theory eliminates any unnecessary
sounds, graphics, or text that hinders the learner experience by distracting
the learner.
·
The contiguity principle places text and
graphics near one another.
The learner will have several opportunities throughout the
storyboard to use his or her critical thinking skills. The practice activity
allows users to use their skills by answering a series of questions and the
collaborative activity allows learners to identify certain parts of the speech
making and presenting process.
